As a respected leader with over 30 years in the recruitment industry, Nanette juggles a busy family life with her numerous council and board appointments, charity and community work, and industry commitments.
Nanette joined the Recruitment Industry in 1981 with Slade Consulting Group, as their Office Manager for the Brisbane office. She then moved into a consultant role and worked her way on to becoming a Regional Director after Slade Group was sold and Slade Personnel Services was re-branded Brook Street Bureau.
In 1990, Nanette was involved in a management buyout of the Queensland division of Brook Street Bureau and became Joint Managing Director and oversaw the spectacular growth of the operation over the ensuing 9 years.
In August 1999, Brook Street QLD was sold to the New York-based TMP Worldwide Inc. and Nanette remained as Joint Managing Director. In April 2000, Nanette was appointed Joint Chief Executive Officer for Australia & New Zealand of the Office Staff Division of Morgan & Banks incorporating Alectus, Lampen and Brook Street, the position she held until her retirement in December 2001. In this role, Nanette had joint responsibility for a Business Turnover of approximately $323 million and staff numbering 540.
Nanette then joined the Board of Directors of the Australian Institute of Management (QLD) and became Chairperson and Chief Judge of the state-wide Management Excellence Awards program from 2002 to 2006.
In 2006, Nanette was also appointed to the Professional Practice Council of the Recruitment & Consulting Services Association (RCSA). She resigned this position in November 2015 after 9 years as a Founding Councillor. Over the years, Nanette has been actively involved in the RCSA (formerly Institute of Personnel Consultants and The National Association of Personnel Consultants) as a councillor and tutor and is now a Fellow (life member) of the RCSA. She is also a past Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow & Councillor of the Australian Institute of Management. In 1996, she was awarded the Queensland & Australian Telstra Business Woman of the Year (Business Owner Category) and was a State and National Judge for the awards for 9 years.
