Our client is a leading global mining company with a portfolio of world-class mining operations. They are the world's third largest seaborne exporter of metallurgical coal. They have two open cut and three underground metallurgical coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, along with additional joint venture interests and growth projects.
About the Role
The Commercial Administration Assistant forms part of the Brisbane Corporate Office (BCO) Exploration team that supports Site-based Exploration Hub Superintendents in the delivery of key commercial accountabilities in undertaking annual exploration programmes
Duties & Responsibilities
The Commercial Administration Assistant will be required to undertake activities such as purchase order management, cost control, receipting, and monthly reporting to ensure Hub Exploration activities are conducted with commercial integrity, and to contribute to the provision of accurate Exploration commercial records and processes. This includes, but is not limited to:
Assisting with Exploration Supply Chain processes
Payment claim/invoice reconciliation, cost allocation, invoice tracking and on-time supplier payments
Assisting with Exploration monthly forecasting, reporting and monitoring of spend against purchase orders
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will have the following: -
A formal qualification in Business / Accounting (preferred)
Knowledge of Exploration processes preferred
Understanding of relevant Site Safety Health Management System (SHMS)
Experience in commercial documentation, sign-off and approval processes
Experience in supplier payment process, including liaising with suppliers
Understanding of Metallurgical Coal commercial processes and deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel;
Understanding of Supply Chain processes;
Minimum of 2 years' experience in accounts payable process
Proficient in proactively planning, scheduling and managing work tasks to meet collective deadlines
Proficient in handling sensitive and confidential information;
Current CBM & S11 essential.
