Administration Officer

About the Role:

Workpac are seeking an Administration Officer for a local Government role near Kalgoorlie, WA.

Our client is looking for an experienced administrator to provide admin support across various departments in the organisation and contribute to efficient records management. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Local Government Act 1995 and be based in the area of Kalgoorlie, Coolgardie or Kambala. This position is a full time Monday to Friday role and is a temporary to permanent opportunity.

Key Duties

  • Ensure organisations compliance with statutory obligations

  • Collation of data for departmental monthly reporting requirements

  • Provide assistance for outstanding records and correspondence

  • Provide support and advice to all internal and external customers of the organisation

  • Contribute to the records section to ensure objectives and performance standards are met

  • Contribute to efficient records management

  • Provide administrative support for the building, health and planning

  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Manager Administration Services, Senior Finance Officer or Administration Coordinator in accordance with the classification principles of the Local Government Industry Award 2010

Requirements for the Position

  • Knowledge of Local Government Act 1995 and associated Administrative Regulations

  • Some understanding of building/planning/health application & approval processes

  • Previous local government experience

  • Experience in a variety of computer applications including Synergy

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service skills

  • Experience in working in an administrative environment with a proven ability to work independently

  • Ability to work within an environment of continuous improvement

  • Pass a Pre-employment medical and drug screen

  • Provide a Satisfactory National Police Clearance

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
