About the Role:

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced APS 5 Coordination Officer based within Canberra for an initial 12 month contract. This position will hold a Monday to Friday roster with competitive hourly rates available for the successful applicant.

The Executive Coordination team is the central point of contact for Open Arms and is responsible for coordinating a range of tasks including, but not limited to, Mailbox coordination; reporting and governance; briefs and correspondence; questions on notice; question time briefs and input requests.

The occupant of this position will be a motivated and highly organised individual who will work independently as a part of a small team in a dynamic environment to provide support to the Open Arms National Manager and the Executive Coordination team.

Duties will Include:

  • Support the management of the Open Arms Coordination email mailbox including coordinating and managing requests for input / information.

  • Support a range of coordination support tasks for Open Arms including; Coordinating and preparing Senate Estimates Briefs, Question Time Briefs, Questions on Notice, Ministerial Correspondence, Action Briefs, meeting papers for various committees, business cases and other papers as required.

  • Prepare status reporting on key deliverables; providing advice on issues and areas of concern across Open Arms;

Skills & Experience

  • Require a high level of integrity, and strong communication and organisational skills to manage competing priorities for the successful delivery of regional objectives.

  • Exercise sound judgement, a high degree of initiative and discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive business matters.

  • Establish strong working relationships and deliver a high standard of customer service

  • Work collaboratively with others and build productive relationships to achieve results in a busy, fast paced environment.

  • Demonstrated experience in an Executive Support or similar role and experience using record management systems is required.

  • Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, advanced word processing skills.

  • Current C Class Driver's License or Transport

  • Must be either an Australian Citizen or a holder of an Australian permanent residency visa to be eligible to apply for this position
