Assist in the management of artefact storage

The Role

This role will see you working in the Heritage and Traditional Owner Partnerships team of Rio Tinto, you will be responsible for the safe storage and management of artefacts that have been found or currently stored through various projects within the organisation. This is a highly exciting opportunity to be a part of Rio Tinto and utilise your background in archaeology or museum studies to assist in the safe storage and management of Artefacts.

What You Will Be Doing

• Data entry and research

• Record keeping

• Database management

• Archaeological Repository audits

• Inventory audits

• Supporting the Specialist Artefact Storage and Management with:

• Preparing materials for TO engagements related to artefact storage

• Developing proposals and funding models

• Developing short- and long-term planning of site artefact storage requirements

• Managing curation requirements

Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in archaeology or museum studies

• Technical experience in Heritage Management and artefact storage

• Archival experience

• Competency in lithics identification

• Experience working with Traditional Owner/Indigenous Groups
