Are you a skilled and experienced TYRE FITTER seeking an exciting opportunity in the dynamic world of Coal Mining? WorkPac have a challenging and rewarding position available for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Tyre Fitter at our thriving coal mining operation in the Bowen Basin.

Position:Tyre Fitter - Coal Mining

Location: Coppabella/Moorvale

Responsibilities:

As a Tyre Fitter in our coal mining operation, you will be responsible for:

• Inspecting, repairing, and replacing tyres on heavy equipment used in coal mining, including haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and other specialized machinery.

• Conducting regular maintenance checks to ensure optimal tyre performance, identifying and addressing potential issues before they lead to downtime.

• Collaborating with the maintenance team to schedule tyre replacements, rotations, and repairs in alignment with production goals.

• Maintaining accurate records of tyre inventory, usage, and maintenance activities.

• Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety within the team.

• Assisting in troubleshooting and diagnosing tyre-related problems, implementing effective solutions to minimize equipment downtime.

• Following company procedures and best practices to maximize the lifespan and efficiency of tyres.

• Continuously updating your knowledge of tyre technology, industry trends, and equipment to contribute to operational improvements.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Previous experience as a Tyre Fitter in heavy industry, preferably within the mining sector.

• Proficiency in tyre fitting techniques, tools, and equipment.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to tyre maintenance.

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively.

• Flexibility to work in a challenging and dynamic environment, including rotating shifts if required.

• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

• Relevant certifications or qualifications in tyre fitting or related fields

• Current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11.
