CNC Machinist

About Our Client

Specialising in the distribution, servicing, and manufacturing of machinery attachments for Earthmoving & Construction equipment, our client is looking to add to their already growing business. They have a position available for an experienced CNC machinist to work in a permanent role on either day, afternoon, or night shift. This is a full time position with the company.

Based in Yatala (QLD), the site is fully equipped with the latest technology and offers a range of modern facilities available to all employees.

What You Will Be Doing

Working 8-10 hour days, Monday to Friday (with weekends optional) on either day, afternoon, or night shift, the successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously and also be available to commence immediately. The position is site-based, with a strong focus on CNC operations across various materials.

Core duties will include:

  • Operate/program CNC Machines to measure and position material in assigned machine to cut/form/fold/roll and crop material to specified size

  • Operate machine to control the speed and path of the cut as well as making sure machine is set up correctly

  • Ensure the production schedule is executed

  • Follow up any investigation process as requested from the Machine Shop Supervisor

  • Machine parts/products in accordance with the production plan

  • Monitor the consumption of consumables and tools and initiate reordering when necessary

  • Operate, the machine shop using lean techniques including adherence to 5S principals

  • Read and analyse charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs

  • Inspect completed work for conformance to specification using tools such as callipers, height gauges, micrometres, and rulers

  • Ensure products are produced to product specifications and SOPs

  • Report times using ERP/MRP System (Lawson)

  • Assist in reducing set up time and machining time through process improvements

  • Report all machine shop repair and maintenance records to Manager

  • Ensure housekeeping is ongoing by maintaining a clean and safe workplace

  • Attend and contribute to meetings as required; attend toolbox meetings

  • Other duties as requested from time to time

  • Assist with stock takes as required

What Will You Need

  • Previous experience working in a similar role

  • Reliable transport and drivers licence

  • Positive attitude and willingness to progress within the company
