5/2, 4/3 roster, FIFO from Perth Operations Centre Perth, adhoc site travel 12 month duration with potential for extension About our client: Rio Tinto operates the worlds largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent? to join the team at Rio Tinto based at Cape Lambert. This position will be working a 5/2, 4/3 roster, FIFO from Perth. This role will have a duration of 3 year with potential to extend. Responsibilities and Duties: Support & mentor the Delivery team in the use of the HSEQ system. 360 focus on the business safety improvement plans ??? Embrace, lead & build a strong safety culture. Participate in HSE inductions and training programs. Have knowledge and experience of HSE policies, standard procedures and statutory requirements. Ensure that business partners HSE systems and processes comply with Rio Tinto and statutory requirements. Carry out/participate in HSE risk analysis process from initiation stage followed by identification, evaluation, management, reporting and updating stages. Skills & Experience Required: Strong leadership and coaching of the Delivery team to ensure alignment with the Sustaining Capital delivery model inclusive of safety performance. Work with our contractor partners to embed safety programmes and or initiatives throughout the execution phase. Understanding the particular characteristics of construction and applying sound judgement at each phase of the project construction for the handover to the CLA operations team. Identifying, monitoring and managing key issues and relationships at all phases of the construction. Combining technical expertise with RTIO project management frameworks and processes to deliver superior results. Understanding the difference between the ???capital and operating?? expenditures Applying financial/cost analysis rigour to all decision making Carry out construction site inspection in conjunction with Government Department Inspectors. Responsible for Construction/Contractor???s workforce compliance with the statutory requirements.
