Opportunity to work up in mines around QLD & NT

Full time position with client

About the Client

Our client is a specialized Cone Penetration Testing Company. They currently have 8 CPT rigs in Vic, South Australia, Queensland and Northern Territory.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced driller to join our client's growing team in a full time permanent capacity.

Pay package: $70k base + Super + Penalties + Living Away From Home Allowance

FIFO Roster: 2:2 (13 days on, 13 days off. One day travel each way)

All flights and accommodations are covered by the client.

This role would suit someone who is looking to do FIFO from VIC.

During the wet weather, the client will have you working out at either their Yarraville head office or up in South Australia.

This is a specialized field, so the client will provide training to someone who has an electrical/air con/hydraulic/mechanical background.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend site prestart meetings and inform others of proposed works for day and answer any questions.

  • Prepare and complete JSA/SWMS and take fives, as required.

  • Follow mine site safety requirements, such as fit for work testing.

  • Perform prestart equipment checks. Clean and maintain equipment.

  • Ensure underground services have been cleared prior to any work by having a signed ground opening permit or a signed service indemnity form.

  • Conduct cone penetration tests and other specialist tests as per company procedures.

  • Communicate with client's site engineer to define test requirements and implement scope changes, if required.

  • Process test data on site and issue draft to the client by email.

  • Backup test data to company sever every day.

Skills/Experience

  • Minimum 6 months working history in electrical/air con/hydraulic/mechanical industry.

  • Directional Driller experience highly regarded!

  • Be tech savvy - client and WorkPac require successful candidates to be able to use specialist softwares and to submit timesheets digitally.

  • Be able to problem solve any issues involving hydraulics, electronics and software.

  • Must be double vaccinated/medical exemption letter for COVID-19

  • Cert II or III in Drilling Operations (preferred)

  • Be able to commit to FIFO roster

  • Be able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol test

  • Have your own car to get to the airport
