About the Position

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer for an initial 12 month role with our client Rio Tinto within their Asset Health and MEP division based at their Perth Airport Operations Centre. This position will see you working on a Monday to Friday roster with occasional site visits to suit project requirements. This department are working on reducing the unplanned downtime by monitoring, analysing, and optimising Critical Assets. This role is primarily focused on supplying Hydrocarbon maintenance tactics governance, technical assurance, procedures, standards, and strategic development for Fixed Plant in the areas of asset health, hydrocarbon management, defect and elimination & condition monitoring.

Duties will include:

  • Being focused on Hydrocarbon Management assets at any of the mining or port operations

  • Development and ownership of Hydrocarbon Management standards and procedures.

  • Developing the Hydrocarbon Management training materials with Centre of Excellence and external consultant.

  • Developing a standard for HCM infrastructure such as bulk storage, cube storage, container storage, auto lubrication systems and dispensation of hydrocarbons.

  • Making assessments of current HCM infrastructure against those standards.

  • Identify gaps, help prepare capital proposals for 2023 HCM infrastructure budget.

  • Help sites deploy our joint improvement program

  • Supporting the Lubrication Tactics for major project and RTTMS

  • Support some of the Peer Review Peer Assist for example the Oil Sampling Process Flow

  • Supporting the requirements for building the KPI dashboard Fixed Plant and Mobile Heavy Equipment

  • Supporting Defect Elimination investigations

  • Working with key condition monitoring suppliers, managing the delivery of technical support services and fostering continuous improvement.

What you will need:

  • Tertiary Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic, Mining or Chemical Degree

  • Excellent discipline with focus on safety and governance

  • Experience or technical knowledge in condition monitoring in a Fixed Plant application

  • Experience in asset tactics and maintenance strategy development.

  • Proven track record of achieving outcomes through negotiation, influencing and collaboration.

  • Skill for building robust and productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Hands on field experience would be desirable

  • Desirable but not essential to have oil and gas experience or fluids knowledges.

  • Desirable but not essential to have SAP, CMR

  • C Class Drivers Licence
