About the Role:

Our Client Rio Tinto are currently seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist with sound or developing Project Management skills to work within the Rail Maintenance division.

What you will be doing:

- Provide asset assurance including inspections and auditing of civil infrastructure and assets (specifically pertaining to cuttings & embankments and associated geotechnical risks, but also not limited to, bridges, culverts, access roads and formation) to ensure asset state is as per the Code of Practice &/or Australian Standards and relevant business risks are contained & managed appropriately.

- Develop scope, quality documentation & timing / priority requirements (as per the Code of Practice) for rectification works and also ensuring suitable short-containments are in place until remediation is complete.

- Coordinate resources (e.g. execution teams, engineering support, surveys) to deliver the program of remedial works which includes significant operating & capital expenditure each year.

- Ensure all relevant approvals are in place (e.g. heritage, capital)

- Provide routine reports and update metrics on progress of works to senior leadership.

What you need:

- Civil Engineering Degree or relevant training.

- Geotechnical engineering or Engineering Geology experience, specifically geo-hazard management experience is highly desirable.

- Some experience in Project / Program Management

- Sound understanding of Railway Track & Civil Engineering concepts and principles

- Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) is desirable. Must be willing to attain.

- 3+ Years Experience in similar role

- C Class Drivers Licence
