About the Role: WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Estimator commencing immediately based on sites within Perth. This position will be a 5:2 roster, 9am to 5pm with occasional site travel, for an temporary to permanent contract. This position has responsibility for scheduling the delivery of Brownfield non process infrastructure capital program across all FMG operating sites including Solomon, Christmas Creek, Cloudbreak, Eliwana, Ironbridge and Port Hedland.The annual program is expected to be circa $50 - $80M portfolio. The position will schedule all project stages including feasibility, design, approval to proceed, execution and handover to operations. This position will actively champion business improvement initiatives to optimise project delivery activities, create efficiencies for execution and actively reduce cost where appropriate. A key deliverable of the role will be to standardize the approach taken by the projects team across all sites. Duties will Include: Safety Promote rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles on a daily basis Provide visible safety leadership (lead by example), modelling positive safety behaviour's to team members. Undertake incident reporting and investigation as required by corporate policies. Conduct field interactions and CCMs when onsitte Actively champion Safety initiatives with a focus on improving contractor safety performance. Ensure appropriate Team Based Riask Assessments, HAZOPs, HAZID processes are incorporated to manage project safety risks Incorporate change management where appropriate to ensure stakeholders are aware of project impacts Schedule Develop a robust portfolio schedule incorporating all projects with clear timelines for delivery Clearly define critical path for delivery Ensure long lead items are adequately identified Incorporate probabilistic schedule risk reviews to understand impact on program related to schedule slip Ensure timely and accurate preparation and maintaining of project schedules in tendering and execution phases respectively across a portfolio of projects Provide Key dates, Milestones, Interdependencies, Work Breakdown Structure Presenting schedule analysis to internal and external stakeholders as required Monitoring and reporting of progress performance against approved project baseline plan Analysing deviations and proposed variations to evaluate impact on the project time-frame and resource requirements Demonstrate a basic understanding of Cost Control and Estimating fundamentals, and particularly how these functions interface with planning Liaise with Project Engineers and Supervisors to manage and control resource capacity planning Must be able to negotiate effectively with contractor schedules and challenge them Track materials delivery to support execution activities Ensure appropriate contingency is applied to project schedule which aligns with overall risk. Track schedule float and escalate as required. Governance Identify appropriate gateway reviews for complex projects. Support gated reviews at specific times in the project lifecycle to ensure project risk is minimized and opportunities are explored / realized. Support monthly reviews of the capital portfolio to effectively manage project risk related to safety, cost time delivery and quality. Provide regular reports to project owners on progress, risks to delivery and controls implemented to mitigate Skills & Experience Essential Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role. Tertiary Engineering Qualification or significant work experience in a related field Experience in the use of MS Project and Primavera P6 is essential experience working in mining/project construction environment experience working in a coordination role for implementation contractor preferably in a mining construction environment Strong sense of urgency and commitment to quality outcomes. Quick learner who is adaptable and has capacity to manage dynamic and ambiguous environments. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills. Having the demonstrated ability to liaise and interact with individuals and groups of varying levels of authority. High level of organisational skills and an ability to meet deadlines whilst managing multiple functions simultaneously.? Be able to work autonomously and within a dynamic team environment. Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be self-directed and work under minimal supervision.
