About the Role:

WorkPac are seeking an experienced Health & Wellbeing Office for a position with our government client based in Mackay.

As the Health & Wellbeing Officer you will provide information, education and services to promote health and wellbeing amongst our clients internal employees. This includes the promotion of a culture of health awareness and the management of health and wellbeing activities and campaigns in line with our clients' business strategy. This role will be based at the Mackay office working Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm on an on-going basis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities could include but not limited to:

  • Provide health and wellbeing information, education and services to promote health and fitness to our employees and support them to possess a level of wellness necessary to perform their role safely.

  • Design and implement robust initiatives in line with the People & Culture Strategic Direction.

  • Coach, advise and support leaders in the delivery of local and targeted wellbeing initiative

  • Coordinate Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, including promotion of the service and its use.

  • Build close relationships with external providers to implement cost effective health promotion services to employees

  • Contribute to the development, review and implementation of policies and procedures to support organisational health and wellbeing development

Experience Required:

  • Practical experience in creatively designing and delivering health and wellbeing promotion initiatives in a large geographically dispersed industry organisation

  • Demonstrated experience implementing organisational development frameworks, programs, initiatives and strategies in a diverse workforce

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong engagement, collaboration and customer service skills

  • Excellent knowledge of health and wellbeing promotion principles

  • Understanding of state and federal funded initiatives and frameworks

  • Must hold current C class drivers license

  • Must hold Australian Citizenship
