High - Supervisor

About the Role

An exciting opportunity to work with one of our leading mining clients is now available for a experienced Resource Recovery Centre Supervisors position in South Australia.

The purpose of this role will be to ensure compliance to the Environmental Protection Authority licence to operate. Reporting to the Coordinator RRC, the Resource recovery centre supervisor will be responsible for EPA compliance including but not limited to general landfill operations, contaminated waste management, continuous improvement and primary link between the Waste Management Contractor and key Company stakeholders.

5/2 Roster, Monday- Friday, Days only (with the potential for night shift where required).

Tasks and responsibilities

  1. Actively participate in field leadership activities;

  2. Oversee the Waste Management Contractor supervision for the execution of all RRC operations with support and direction from Coordinator RRC to ensure compliance against the EPA licence;

  3. Attend and participate in pre start meetings addressing any compliance risks and promoting safety initiatives;

  4. Ensure compliance of the Land Environmental Management Plan (LEMP), Contaminated Waste Disposal Facility (CWDF), Low Level Radioactive Waste (LLRW) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA 1301.)

  5. Play an integral role in assisting in the planning of the upcoming SCM21 shutdown.

  6. Coach/mentor the waste management contractor in the BHP systems such as FLEX, Fiori, SAP, Tempo, Documentum etc.

  7. Strong focus on HSEC principals and apply against the teamâs performance

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role is preferred;

  • Sound knowledge and experience of Work Management process in 1SAP;

  • Previous exposure to the mining and minerals processing industries in a similar role is preferable;

  • Proven ability to lead, influence and mentor others in HSEC principles and behaviors;

  • A current unrestricted driverâs license is essential;

  • Proficient in computer skills, including the Microsoft office package; 7. High level of competency in Outlook, Word and Excel;

  • Excellent communication skills to a broad range of audiences;

  • Demonstrate contractor management background;

  • Ability to operate at multiple levels and across disciplines and the ability to prioritise and aid in making decisions.

  • Qualifications in environmental science, environmental engineering and/or Operation background as a prerequisite
