About the Role
We are looking for a keen individual to join the team short term as Health and Safety Advisor located in Port Hedland. This role is a great opportunity for passionate health and safety professionals to further their skills and gain a wider business understanding and exposure to Salt Operations at Rio Tinto Iron Ore. The opportunity is short term for 3 months commencing in August on a 5:2 4:3 Roster.
Partnering with operational leaders to support proactive management of key health and safety risks onsite and ensuring legislative requirements are met
Providing onsite support for incident investigations and risk assessments including coaching and facilitating
Capturing and analysing data to inform risk management opportunities for ongoing improvement
Providing advice on health and safety matters to operational leaders and partnering with contractors to deliver safe outcomes
Influencing site leaders to ensure the successful delivery and application of fundamental H&S processes
Skills and Experience
Positive and proactive attitude towards safety
The ability to work autonomously and be self-motived
Qualifications in Health and Safety (minimum 3 years previous experience)
Previous experience in the mining or construction industry
Experience in incident investigation
Risk assessment experience
Computer skills including experience using reporting tools and Microsoft office suite
A Current C Class Drivers Licence
