IT Project Manager
About the Role:
WorkPac on behalf of our leading Government client are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join the team working a 38 hour week Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
??? As a project management specialist, effectively manage the completion of small to complex medium-scale and large projects across the project life cycle and provide advice and support to the immediate team and Section in respect to project management principles and best-practice.
??? Ensure quality customer outcomes / strong relationships with strategic partners through the use of effective customer service principles, educating customers, understanding the business, and by promoting a customer centric mentality across council.
??? Define the project scope and develop project plans that achieve the goals and objectives and align with the Councils overall business strategy.
??? Develop project documentation relevant to the size of the project.
??? Ensure appropriate Project and Information Governance is applied to all projects including stage gate approvals, appropriate record keeping practices and reporting to relevant steering committees.
??? Assemble and effectively lead project teams. Identifying skills and resources and assigning tasks and deadlines in consultation with appropriate stakeholders and customers.
??? Define and sequence activities, accurately estimating task duration to develop and maintain a realistic schedule.
??? Accurately estimating the project budget and monitoring and reporting actual spend to budget.
??? Ensure the planned deliverables meet the expectations of the key stakeholders and maintain constant communications to provide these stakeholders with updates of the ongoing progress.
??? Identify key risks associated with projects and develop and communicate potential mitigation measures to avoid or minimise these risks.
??? Collect project data to monitor and measure progress compared to the plan and adjust and reallocate resources to accommodate any changes.
??? Develop and produce regular status reports on progress as well as problems and solutions, with the level of detail tailored to the stakeholder needs.
??? Ensure effective practice of Change Management principles. This includes scope control / management and moving or deploying solutions between environments and to Production.
??? Lead meetings and set expectations of the project team and assist in resolving problems and issues.
??? Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
??? Maintain a strong understanding of the IT industry / emerging technologies, project management, and relevant legislation, policies, procedures and opportunities through analysis, research, and industry expertise.
