Laboratory Operator

  • Local role for residents of Port Hedland

  • Part time hours - 20 hours per week

About the role

Supporting the Processing Team at Rio Tinto DSL's Port Hedland mine site, you will be required collect field samples and perform field inspections, monitor field operations through data analysis and observations and prepare and test samples in accordance with procedures. As a key member of a high performing team, you will play an integral role in implementing our client's production requirements.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a Laboratory Operator

  • Experience with computers systems such as SAP, Starlims, SAP, FDMS, TIKS, SuperQ and ChemAlert preferred

  • Technical and analytical experience in flux fusion, Leco TGA, XRF, robotic sampling with Herzog equipment, manual sample preparation using RSDs (Rotary Sample Dividers), Rocklabs crusher/splitter, moisture and sizings analysis preferred

  • Current Australian 'C' class driver licence essential

  • HR Drivers Licence (preferred)
