About the Role

Seeking a Laboratory Operator for ongoing work at Dampier - Rio Tinto.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, you will be physically testing (crushing, grinding, weighing, sieving) iron ore / base metals, conducting manual preparation using rotary sample dividers and other associated duties within a laboratory environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct sampling, testing and related laboratory tasks following standard instructions and work schedule

• Work in accordance with pre-established work instructions and procedures under general supervision

• Carries out routine analytical tests and record data using site operational data system

• Carries out routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and liaises with senior support staff on fault repair

• Carries out duties in accordance with relevant HSE rules and procedures and good laboratory practice

• Maintain chemicals stock.

Skills and Experience

• Experience as a Laboratory Operator or in the mining environment would be highly desirable however not essential

• Forklift Ticket (desirable)

• C Class manual drivers license

• Willingness to learn

• Willing to complete a pre-employment medical
