About the Position

WorkPac is currently seeking an experienced CHPP & Logistics Coordinator or Logistics Specialist to join the growing logistics team of our leading mining and resource client. FIFO/Residential positions are available in the Bowen Basin on an 8/6 roster or within the Brisbane Head Office on a Monday to Friday roster.

Reporting to the Logistics Superintendent you will join a team responsible for managing the pit-to-port supply chain through integrating multiple operational schedules to plan and execute CHPP production, product blending, sampling, railing and shipping.

Skills and Experience Required:

We are seeking candidates with experience in any combination of the below areas:

CHPP and Logistics Scheduling:

o Plan and coordinate ROM stockpiling, CHPP wash strategy, product blending and rail ordering for final cargo assembly at port

o Weekly rail planning, vessel planning and stockpile management to ensure coal availability upon vessel arrival to avoid demurrage

o Provide instruction to port and rail service providers to meet volume, quality and schedule commitments

Coal Quality Management:

o Monitor and track coal quality to ensure coal quality specifications are met prior to loading ships, including TML (Transportable Moisture Limit) requirements

o Provide instructions to laboratory service providers in order to effectively meet quality and contract requirements

o Coordinate final vessel quality certification and customer specific requirements

Tracking and documenting the daily activities of the supply chain:

o Ensure commercial and ship documentation is prepared according to Coal Sales Agreements

o Train consignment ticketing

o Monthly port and rail contract management

o Effective Cost Control

o Risk management

o Value optimisation of sales and FOB costs

About You:

• To be successful in this role you will ideally have a professional qualifications (Logistics, Engineering, Geology, Processing) or similar with strong planning skills and attention to detail.

• A strong understanding of coal sales agreements, coal quality and despatch/demurrage.

• Familiarity with Bowen Basin/ Central Queensland Coal Chain will be highly valued

• Further you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders.

• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office applications.
