About the Role:
Workpac are seeking an experienced Marine Maintenance Engineer for our adventure tourism client based in Broome, WA.
Our Client is a leading tourism operator providing adventure day trips and luxury overnight tours within the Kimberley region. Due to an increase in business, they have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Marine Engineer to join their team on a full time permanent basis. Reporting to the Marine Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for the vessel maintenance of all the marine assets at Horizontal Falls including pontoons, vessels, fuels barges as well as overseeing fuel logistics.
Key Duties:
Implement maintenance schedules for the marine assists at the falls
Adhere to budget and priority targets including continuous improvement, cost management and guest experience
Effective control and efficiency of processes around fleet maintenance. Assist with process improvement to reduce costs and reduce idle/down days. Utilise the most efficient and cost effective means to ensure maintenance requirements are met on a daily basis
Ensure fleet service, maintenance and repair programs continually improve the efficiency, reliability and presentation of the fleet
Undertake repairs, service and maintenance of the fleet
Undertake the transport of fuel and supplies to ensure there is no disruption to the operation
Conduct root cause analysis to al faults that occur ensuring maintenance activity focuses on prevention wherever possible.
Experience Required:
5 years in a similar marine engineer position
MAR30918 - Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Master up to 24 metres Near Coastal)
MAR30818 - Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 Near Coastal
Hold First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation qualifications
Ideally hold MR or HR drivers license
Ideally hold a Forklift license
Strong understanding of the tourism industry is preferred
Outboard mechanic qualification, welding or mooring installation understanding would be highly regarded
Hold excellent health and safety values
Must hold full working rights in Australia. Open to candidates across Australia and New Zealand.
