About the Role
The Mould Room Shift Fitter is a member of the Mould Room team and supports the forming operations with quality mould parts. Utilises trade and other skills to support and enhance the performance of the production team. Ensuring safety and quality systems are adhered to and ensures fit for purpose parts for production.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure mould parts are available for all operating machine lines

  • Ensure safety and quality standards are maintained

  • Report all items that cause operations to perform under standard and record information as per Supervisors requirements

  • Participate in a shift hand over prior to finishing work to ensure oncoming shift is aware of all relevant information

  • Monitor and maintain supply of mould equipment to the glass forming machines

  • Clean mould equipment, utilizing manual and automatic cleaning devices

  • Inspect and repair mould equipment to the nominated specifications.

  • Assist on job changes when required

  • Able to perform all tasks in all areas of the mould room

  • Ensure appropriate quality check sheets are understood and filled out correctly

  • Report all mould room related issues that may cause mould gear to be outside the standards and record all information as required on log sheets as required or requested.

  • Share gain knowledge and experiences with other relevant employee???s to achieve a shared knowledge base

  • Adhere to all applicable safety and quality systems and procedures

  • Ensure work areas, benches and environment comply with housekeeping standards

  • Perform both machine and general cleaning duties as required in order to meet housekeeping standards

  • Maintain job competencies to improve workplace performance by participating in development and training initiatives

  • Complete all training requirements for the role as set in the training matrix

  • Work in other departments as requested in line with your skills and competencies.

  • Attend team briefs, team days and other meeting as required which may be held outside of normal working hours

Skills and experience

  • Trade Cert. III Mechanical Engineering

  • Proven Attention to detail

  • Ability to manage changing priorities

  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

  • Able to assess and prioritise work activities

  • Excellent communication skills

  • A demonstrated ability to follow standardised process and work systematically.

  • Capacity to work autonomously.

  • Ability to work flexible shift rosters including 12 hour and weekend shifts as required
