WorkPac Health and Social Care are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to take on a full time role within the largest correctional centre in Australia. Clarence is a state-of-the-art Correctional Facility in NSW and is located approximately 3.5 hours from Brisbane and 6 hours from Sydney.
Job role
The role of the Nurse Practitioner is to provide assessment and intervention strategies to support and manage patients at an advanced nursing level. Reporting to the Health Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing general nursing care to patients whilst also being able to assist in emergency medical responses, prescribe medications/vaccinations, order diagnostic investigations and direct referral to other health care professionals. You will adhere to the competencies, guidelines and codes of professional standards as detailed by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), as well as all site Policies and Procedures, legislative requirements and clinical governance directives.
The role will contribute to embedding the facilities key operating principles:
Ensuring the safety and security of inmates and the community
Providing a decent and respectful environment to staff, inmates and visitors
Actively participate in accreditation and quality improvement processes
Experience and Requirements
All applicant experience levels will be considered
Clinical assessment, care planning, review and discharge planning of individual patients including ongoing regular reviews
Unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Master of Nursing Practice - Endorsement by the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia (NMBA) to provide patient care in an advanced and extended clinical role
