OOSH Childcare Director

My client is leading the way in OOSH & Vacation programs in Canterbury, Bankstown area. Providing the highest quality, after school care, specifically designed for children in the area. This centre is filled with fun, laughter, and lots of learning too. 

This clients OOSH program is at the heart of the centreâs many services being provided to the local community.  The OOSH & Vacation program supports a myriad of culturally diverse children from 7 local schools, in a purpose-built facility Monday to Friday.  They currently care for 30 children in the morning program, 40 children in the afternoon program and 70 children during the vacation period, with the capacity to increase their current numbers.   The children are supported by a dedicated team of educators offering a vast array of knowledge, skills and experience ensuring the children get to explore in arts and crafts, cooking, games, indoor and outdoor play, and a host of engaging activities.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced OOSH Childcare Director, seeking a leadership position where you are given full autonomy to grow and develop the centre and head count of attendees.  Actively engage with school Principals and leaders and community groups to promote this fantastic service.  You will have some flexibility to arrange your hours to better suite your administrative commitments and will be supported with administrative staff, a promotions/marketing specialist a long-standing authorised supervisor, along with casual and permanent educators.


  • 30 hr per week (School term) Between 7:00am- 9:00am and 2:00 - 6:00pm, 38 hours per week during Vacation Care 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inclusion in educators' ratio and childrenâs supervision

  • Educational leadership 

  • Developing and delivery quality care and childrenâs programs

  • Staff management and leadership

  • Build strong caring partnerships with families and communities.

  • General administration functions

  • Promoting the service to schools and community

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelorâs degree in early childhood education/Diploma in OOSH or equivalent

  • 2 years of experience leading teams

  • Understanding of Childcare Quality Standards

  • Loves interacting with children and their families. 

  • Highly developed observation and reporting skills.

  • IT literate, Quikkids would be advantageous.

  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19

  • Police Check (or willing to obtain one)

  • First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain one)

  • WWCC (or willing to obtain one)

  • Child Protection Qualification (or willing to obtain one)
