WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Project Advisor for our Mining clientâs project based in the Dampier. FIFO from Perth, 8:6 roster.

Duties include:

Safety:

  • Establish safety expectations for the Project with all Contractors at beginning of project and with any new-starters that join throughout the project.

  • Ensure that all site construction activities comply with and are delivered to Rio Tinto standards and policies for HSE.

  • Coach on safe behaviours through daily field leadership. Establish effective relationship with Contractor supervisors and teams, built around trust and empathy.

  • Coaching and mentoring contracting partners in all aspects of HSE inclusive of PSI meetings, Leadership in the Field, Review of all levels of risk assessment (L2RA, SWP, Take 5 etc).

  • Carry out CCFV, CRM Coaching and Quality Safety Interactions.

  • Lead Level 1 incident investigation ensuring actions are completed and closed out.

  • Assist contractors/HSE team in facilitating L2RA for projects.

  • Review and issue all required Permits dependant on Site requirements (eg. General Permits, W@H, Confined Spaces)

  • Review risk assessments daily (ie. SWPâs, JHAâs) and check for effective application at the work-fronts.

Quality:

  • Assist the project lead as required for verification of day works sheets.

  • Assist engineers for quality assurance of project deliverables as required

  • Coordinate all works including visits/inspections required on site (3D scanning, tender visits, scoping etc.)

  • Manage project mobilisation, implementation and handover documentation. (incl mob docs, mgmt. plans, L2RA, dig/penetration permit, ITPâs etc)

  • Track and review Contractorsâ schedules from through implementation.

  • Manage interfaces with Site/Operations and other parties to ensure planned and fluent project execution.

  • Run and document site weekly construction meetings from implementation through to handover.

  • Drive / implement works procedures, problem solving, and review Contractorsâ planned works.

  • Review and approve construction management plans applying objective, data driven problem solving and sound judgment to advise on construction. planning and implementation in conjunction with the project lead.

  • Assist project leads with completion of punch list and rectification works.

  • Review risk assessments daily ie JHAâs, Take 5, SWPâs.

  • Review contractor hours for accuracy.

  • Ensure required reporting documentation is reviewed and delivered on time to the appropriate Sustaining Capital department (Contractor hours, Weekly Dashboard, Weekly Look Ahead etc)

  • Participate in construction lessons learned at project completion and collaborate to put in place robust actions for improvement.

  • Ensure all training and competencies required for their role are kept up to date and compliant.

  • Identify, monitor and manage key issues and relationships at all phases of construction.

Partnerships:

  • Build and maintain collaborative stakeholder and end user engagement on site.

  • Coordinate project works interface with site shut downs (SAP Notifications/WO, contractor schedule, shut meetings etc)

  • Use constructive communication skills and negotiation to engage and obtain buy-in from stakeholders.

  • Build a positive reputation by dealing openly, fairly, sensitively and consistently with stakeholders.

Cash:

  • Monitor and ensure efficient use of contractor resources.

  • Highlight any cost management and/or project budget issues to Project Lead.

Stakeholder Interactions:

  • Regional Construction Superintendents, Regional Principal Lead Advisor, Senior Advisor Construction, Project Leads and Engineers, Health and Safety, Environment, Emergency Management Officers, Contractors representatives, Operations, Cost Control, Planners and Contracts, Plant and Mine Superintendents.
