Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety and environmental performance.

About the Role:

WorkPac are seeking a Project Engineer - Civil to join Rio Tinto's Pilbara Integration & Assets team. Reporting to the Project Lead, you will provide site engineering expertise on structural integrity, civil infrastructure works, and SMP projects which are being undertaken in the Greater Brockman region.

Key Responsibilities will include

o Overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the programs of works;

o Planning and coordination of shutdown works with multiple stakeholder groups.

o Coordinating technical queries through the consultant.

o Managing project risks.

o Reporting progress to internal stakeholders.

o Providing safety leadership in the field.

o Ensuring compliance with RTIO technical standards at all times.

o Ensuring contractor compliance with established quality systems.

o Reviewing construction methodologies and tender documentation

o Reviewing bill of quantities in comparison to site progress and progress percentage reporting on frequent basis to the project lead

o Utilising the Sustaining Capital project procedures to assist moving new projects through the stages Pre-Feasibility, Feasibility, Implementation and Close Out.

o Establishing the scope of work, liaising closely with site stakeholders.

o Determining optimum design solutions in consultation with the design teams

o Creating an accurate Project Budget and forecasting cash flow

o Creating a Project Schedule to meet required business deadlines

Skills & Experience Required

- Civil engineering degree.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel, Word, etc.); Working knowledge in MS - Project & Primavera P6; SAP experience favoured but not essential.

- Ability to work autonomously, show initiative and be driven to achieve results.

- Knowledge of SMP, structural integrity or civil earthworks highly regarded.

- Understanding of shutdown planning and job task sequencing highly regarded;

- Contractor/Sub-contractor management favoured but not essential.
