About the Role

WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Project Lead to join our client Rio Tinto in their Sustaining Capital team for a 12 month duration. This role is located in the Perth office working a Monday and Friday roster, 8 hour days with ADHOC site travel.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Management of all project elements (cost, quality, schedule) related to capital projects in accordance with the RT Sustaining Capital Portfolio Framework using standard tools, procedures and specifications

• Provide leadership in the management of all aspects of health, safety, environment and community in relation to Rail capital projects

• Management of Consultants; Engineering Service Providers and Contractors in the delivery of Rail projects ensuring project objectives are met

• Engage and liaise with all stakeholders providing progress updates of engineering and construction activities in accordance with the project schedule

• Act as point of communication between the Perth and Operational teams

• Review and implement project plans, documents and standards

• Ensure all site construction activities are delivered in line with Rio Tinto HSE standards and policies

• Develop and participate in improvement initiatives related to capital project delivery
  

Skills and Experience

• Relevant/Trade qualification in project manager

• Project management experience preferably within a brownfield mining or heavy industrial environment

• Owners team project management experience

• Rail/Heavy haulage rail experience
