About The Role

WorkPac are currently seeking a Project Planner for Rio Tinto, FIFO from Perth, or local to site Tom Price.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze, review and assess Contractor provided detailed Level 5 Baseline Planned schedule for the shutdown

  • Check the duration, activities done pre, shut and post shut works

  • Validate on sequence of works, review & understand work-pack methodology

  • Check the resourcing levels applicable during offline works

  • Follow-up on permitry is in place ahead of planned activities with permit co-ordinator / Plant Shut Planner

  • Liaise with the Contractor Planner on providing daily updates on schedule at end of shift

  • Monitor the slippages and re-schedule accordingly where ever applicable and suitable with Maintenance personnel

  • Liaise with the Overall Shut Planner and provide updated daily schedules to be loaded into the Quantum software applicable

  • Check the Contractor for each scope to have a specialized dedicated team for Plant Shutdown executing the scope

  • Identify for any gaps in trades and immediately highlight with the Management team

  • Challenge every Contractor on duration of each task and track the activities closely

  • Identify and monitor critical path activities

  • Find opportunity scope that can be done during online works to limit the Offline scope to maintain the strict shut deadline dates

  • Analyze, identify if there are any delays caused in maintenance offline works impacting the planned capital projects offline scope & inform the management and lookout for slippages caused impacting the Contractor offline scope timeframes.

  • Check the resource demand requirement from Contractor schedules by trades vs available bedding allocation and identify and inform for any shortfalls.

  • In case of any slippages during shutdown scope, offer solutions (if required) on mitigations / acceleration to maintain the schedule end completion dates.

  • Should conduct meetings (if required) with the Contractors and immediate stake holders for any schedule risks / issues.

Skills & Experience

  • Experienced in SAP planning and work management.

  • Should be well versed with latest Planning / Scheduling softwares including P6 & Microsoft Project.

  • Should have worked previously in brownfield environment in similar type of roles with enough experience working within safe work practices.
