About the Client
At HVO South and HVO North mines near the Upper Hunter town of Singleton, our client mines up to 42 million tonnes of high quality thermal and semi-soft metallurgical coal a year to help meet the world???s energy needs.
About the Role
WorkPac are currently looking for an experienced Project Supervisor to join our client at Hunter Valley Operations for an ongoing opportunity. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the work of their project contractors, making sure that they???re doing their jobs safely, correctly and effectively. Supervisors may also be tasked with managing the day-to-day operations of their financial, program and overall project performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluating contractor and employee performance and providing feedback to help them improve their skill
Establishing goals for each contractor and employee based on their individual abilities and needs
Ensuring that work environments are safe by following safety procedures and protocols
Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed and improvement opportunities identified and actioned
Training new contractors and employees on how to perform their jobs effectively
Ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget
Managing daily operations and activities of a department or project team
Evaluating internal and external customer satisfaction to ensure customer needs are met
Supervising contractors and employees to ensure they are performing their duties correctly
Skills and Experience
Trade certificate or Engineering degree or diploma
Minimum 2 years??? experience as supervisor or job coordinator.
Civil and mechanical construction experience
Project related formal training, Glencore Generic Induction, HVO familiarisation , HVO Pit light vehicle licence, HVO site specific supervisor training and associated appointments
Good? communication skills
Promote teamwork between work parties and stakeholders
Be capable of managing project timelines and ensure works are scheduled to meet project and stakeholder commitments
Produce and manage team HCOM???s
Capable of setting team expectation
Able to provide teams with clear communications
Provide team feedback positive and negative
Keep good records such as daily diaries, keep schedules up to date, raise requisitions, monitor and forecast expenditure, update fortnightly project reports and contribute to financial project cost tracking.
Identify and promote a culture of site safety, team cohesion and innovation
