About the Position:

WorkPac are current seeking an Environment Advisor to join the Resource Development Team with our client Rio Tinto. This role will see you providing support to Iron Ore operational drilling teams executing Pilbara wide drilling programs. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual who possesses the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, maintain flexibility to adapt to changing business conditions and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

Duties will Include:

• Reporting to the Environment Superintendent

• Partnering with operational teams to support effective environmental risk management including audits and inspections.

• Supporting operations to manage a diverse range of operational environmental issues, for example; land clearing, rehabilitation, priority/threatened ecological communities, water reserves, air quality and hydrocarbon/contamination management.

• Providing environmental advice in the interpretation of legislation, acts and regulations.

Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in Environment Science or Environmental Engineering

• 2+ years environmental experience within mining operations

• Experience conducting environmental monitoring and sampling.

• Experience managing environmental monitoring database software such as MonitorPro

• Understanding of mining environmental legislation including Mining Act 1978 and Environmental Protection Act 1986

• Experience in completing statutory reports such as NGERS, NPI and AERs

• Current C Class Drivers Licence
