About the Role:


WorkPac are currently seeking experienced Rail servicepersons with experience maintaining and repairing Wagons for ongoing roles at Rio Tinto's 7 Mile Facility in Karratha. This includes Boilermakers, electricians, fitters that have experience working within the rail industry.




About the role


Servicing, diagnosing defects and competently repairing Pooled Fleet and Fleet wagons which includes;
Qualifying and replacing of Wheelset's as required using an overhead crane or Jacks
Assembling/disassembling and replacing Draft Gears, Couplers and other Drawgear components
Testing, diagnosing faults and repairing brake systems
Repairing wagon structural body damage
Repairing Bogies
Qualifying wheelset bearings, pressing bearings on/off and qualifying Axles.
Operating Simmonds Stanray Milling Machine and any future wheelset truing machine
Shunting wagons within workshop yard
Operate Yard Drop tables

Experience and Qualifications

Relevant trade certificate

CAT 1 medical
M1 Safeworking (Minimum) up to M6
Isolation Officer/Lockholder
C class Drivers Licence (additional preference Heavy Rigid)
Operate RK320 Railing
High Risk Ticket, LF & DG (additional preference CV, WP)
Confined Space & WAH trained
