About the Role:

WorkPac is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer based in Gladstone for an immediate start to lead a 9 month project in the digestion area of an Alumina Refinery from engineering design through to execution. This position would suit an accomplished safety leader, excellent communicator with a strong customer focus and experience leading projects through its lifecycle, from concept to close-out.

This position will hold a Monday to Saturday roster working 60 hours per week.

To be successful within this position you will have Mechanical Engineering Degree and be an experienced Project Engineer or Supervisor. You must be comfortable presenting and communicating and writing approval documentation, be an effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement experience. You will need project controls process knowledge to manage the project effectively and be able to manage different streams of work in parallel.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily and long-term management of consultants and contractors through the different phases of the projects.

• Set and maintain project budgets and schedules to meet internal and external commitments.

• Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:

• Tertiary degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Sound understanding of project controls and project reporting requirements.

• Demonstrate strong safety focus.

• Leadership and people management experience

• Effective written and communications skills.
