About the role

Our client is a earthmoving company based in Queenslands Bowen Basin, with a proven civil construction record and a focus on mine-site infrastructure delivery. On their behalf WorkPac are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer. This role is FIFO from Brisbane to Caval Ridge Mine, Moranbah BHP mine site. It is a 6 month duration with possible review for permanency thereafter, with a Monday - Friday roster. You will report to the PM and shall assume responsibility for the implementation of the approved Quality Management Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

The Site Engineer (QA Engineer) is accountable to the PM for quality related activities including, but not limited to:

• The correct employment of approved inspection and test procedure - soil testing, QA register and surveys.

• The coordination and reporting of all quality related activities, including particularly construction material testing (primarily quarried materials)

• The correct conduct of internal quality auditing, and compliance with external auditing as required by the Client

• The analysis of NCRs in order to identify trends and to recommend, to the PM, corrective actions;

• Adaptation of the QMP as part of continuous improvement and in accordance with feedback from the Client;

• Ensuring the correct recording, storage and management of all quality information, including specifics such as revision number, date, time and location, result and observation;

• Management and dissemination of quality documentation, reporting and notifications to the Client, in accordance with the communication plan

• Ensuring all quality equipment is correctly calibrated and employed;

• Support survey requirements by recording the location of in-situ soil testing and individual compacted layers

• Communicate to the Supervisors, and Company Project Engineer any design changes or non-conformances.

Qualification

• Does not require an engineering degree a diploma or relevant QA qualification/ industry experience

• Soil testing experience

• Fully vaccinated

• Full rights to work within Australia
