WHS Manager

About the Position:

In partnership with our leading Agricultural client, WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced WHS Manager for a full time, permanent opportunity based within West Perth. This position will include travel to all states as part of the role on a regular basis and will suit an candidate with exposure to agriculture or similar industries or someone who holds a farming background.

Reporting to the MD, you will provide leadership, analysis and direction for the WHS function, continuing to drive SafeX systems across the business, advocating for the health and safety working culture within the organisation and acting as the principal contact for WHS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties will include however will not be limited to;

  • Provide WHS advisory service to the managers and executive function.

  • Drive safety governance through the development and implementation of WHS systems and processes which align with a quality control process.

  • To assist in the development of employees for the WHS function by leading by example with a safety-first approach.

  • To ensure compliance with WHS legislation and provide effective management of workers compensation claims.

  • Develop, implement, and manage WHS policies, procedures, and practices, such as SOPs, SWIMs, Incidents, Guidelines, Toolboxes, Safety Alerts.

  • Monitor changes to the legislative requirements across the states the company works

  • Liaise with managers to ensure the organisation minimises risk and complies with WHS legislation

  • Complete physical internal audits across the business operations for all WHS requirements such as substances.

  • Undertake regular internal audits safety systems to ensure compliance with federal and state driven WHS requirements.

  • Support managers with incident investigations, complete root cause analysis and conduct lessons learnt.

  • Be the champion for further implementation and development of the safety structure and systems using company safety software.

  • Monthly and ad-hoc WHS reporting.

  • Travel to company properties throughout the country to perform duties such as audits, inspections, and training.

Requirements of the Role:

  • Proven experience within an WHS Manager position in an agricultural, resource or farming background

  • Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Workplace Health and Safety

  • A hands-on approach with strong commitment to field leadership.

  • Ability to work remotely and autonomously.

  • Technological proficiency in Office365 and custom designed software.

  • Demonstrated experience leading and coaching teams.

  • Experience in the agricultural industry. (Desirable)

  • Certificate 4 Training and Assessment (Desirable)

  • Member of the AIHS (Desirable)

  • Drivers License (Compulsory)
