Our client are currently calling for applications from suitably skilled and experienced Plant or truck Mechanics / Diesel Fitters in Port Kembla, NSW. The position is a Monday to Friday roster with occasional call outs as required.  
 
Weâre looking for a reliable person with a solid commitment to working safely, driven to achieve and enjoy contributing to our teamâs success. Day to day duties include diagnosing and completing scheduled and emergency repairs on a variety of forklifts, sweepers and heavy vehicles onsite including auto electrical and hydraulic work. This is to ensure our operations can continue onsite 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.    
  
Requirement for this role include:

• Previous work history and experience as a mechanic repairing and maintaining various forklift brands and sizes (up to 56 tonne)

• Cert III Plant Mechanic Trade Certification or similar

• Current High Risk Forklift Licence (LF) preferable

• Ability to perform call outs after hours on an ad hoc basis
  

Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Assess, diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues on forklifts and other mobile plant including sweepers and HC trucks.

• Work independently and unsupervised as required to meet maintenance goals/targets

• Demonstrated commitment to our goal of Zero Harm (for our people, our equipment and the environment)

• Commitment to all site safety standards and requirements
  

Applicants will also be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
