About our client
Our client is a leader in the industrial hydraulics space, specialising in the design, manufacturing and maintenance of products to well known names such as Bluescope Steel, BHP, Hitachi and Onesteel.
After recently celebrating 30 years as one of Australia's leading hydraulics companies they are looking to expand their workforce. They are currently looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join their team based in North Brisbane on a long term basis. This role has the scope for a permanent full-time engagement with our client directly, or on a casual basis through WorkPac for the initial 3-6 months whilst you settle in, then moving into a permanent role with our client directly, inclusive of all permanent employee leave entitlements etc.
What you will be doing
The primary duties for this position will be workshop based, overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day activities in the workshop team to ensure customer requirements are met, whilst meeting safety, quality and performance standards. You will also act as the primary link between the shopfloor and management.
Read and interpret job specifications, technical drawings and schematics
Work collaboratively to resolve issues
Maintain equipment, tools and work area.
Direct and mentor trades assistants and apprentices where required.
There is a highly lucrative salary/payrate on offer for this position to attract an experienced and skilled supervisor interviews are available immediately.
What you will need
Trade or Mechanical Engineering skills/qualifications
Knowledge of hydraulics and/or machining principals and practices
Able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong organisational and supervisory skills
Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and multiple tasks at once
