Asphalt Operator

  • Fantastic Opportunity with the potential for on-going work!

  • $36.26 per hour - $37.72 per hour (depending on experience) + penalties!

  • Mon - Friday roster (Day, Afternoon and Nightshift) with the occasional Saturday work

About the Role

We are currently hiring for multiple positions in pavement construction to join our dynamic team. Whether you're experienced as a Screed Hand, Lead Steel Roller Operator, or Shuttle Buggy Operator, we have opportunities for you to contribute to the installation of high-quality asphalt pavement. Each role plays a crucial part in achieving our project goals, and we are seeking individuals who are dedicated to excellence and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Screed Hands:

  • Assist in the preparation and installation of asphalt pavement.

  • Operate and maintain screed equipment for optimal results.

  • Ensure proper asphalt thickness and smoothness during paving.

  • Collaborate with the paving crew to achieve quality outcomes.

Requires minimum 2 years of asphalt-specific screed hand experience.

Lead Steel Roller Operator:

  • Operate heavy steel rollers to compact asphalt pavement effectively.

  • Inspect and maintain roller equipment for smooth operations.

  • Collaborate with the paving crew for optimal compaction results.

Ability to adjust rolling patterns to suit desired outcomes.

Requires appropriate asphalt-specific lead rolling experience, including knowledge of rolling patterns, minimum of 12 months experience on lead roller.

Shuttle Buggy Operator:

  • Operate the shuttle buggy to transport and distribute hot asphalt.

  • Load and unload asphalt materials onto the shuttle buggy.

  • Collaborate with the paving crew for accurate and efficient asphalt distribution.

Requires minimum of 6 months of asphalt-specific shuttle buggy experience.

Additional Skills & Experience Required for Each Position:

  • Current Australian driver's licence

  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
