About Our Client

Our client is a National leading provider of project engineering & maintenance services to the Marine industry, working with a vast client base including prime Defence contractors and commercial vessel & shipping operators.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a number of experienced Trade Qualified Boilermakers to join our clientâs Sydney operations. This will be a combination of new vessel projects and key client maintenance services. The sites you would get the opportunity to work on will vary but majority of works will be within the Garden Island Naval Precinct.

Job Scope

  • Securely join pressure vessel components using various techniques like bell joining and bolt or arc-pressure welding for leakproof joints.

  • Thoroughly inspect marine vessels to identify defects such as leaks and weak spots, both in assembled units and individual components.

  • Install essential components and conduct repairs or replacements to ensure proper functioning of pressure vessels.

  • Align and secure structural parts according to blueprints, and fabricate necessary components for adaptation.

  • Interpret blueprints for precise component placement and dimensions

Candidate Requirements:

  • CIII Engineering (Heavy Fabrication) Trade Qualification

  • MUST be able to read technical drawings and specifications.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with a high level of adaptability.

  • Proficient in various welding techniques i.e. bolt and/or arc-pressure welding

  • Strong understanding of safety & PPE requirements

  • Current driver's license with reliable transportation.

  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks on an ongoing basis.

  • OHS Construction Induction White Card (Essential).

  • Willing to undergo a National Police Check

Advantage to have but not essential

  • Marine Industry or Naval Defence vessel experience

  • Confined Space Entry ticket

  • Fire Sentry Training.

  • Working at Heights ticket
