About our Client
Our Client is a multi-national mining company operating open-pit coal mines that produce high quality coal.
About the Role
Located approximately 30 minute drive from Moranbah in Queensland's Bowen Basin. The successful candidate will join the Engineering Department on a Monday to Friday Roster with a expected assignment duration until November 2022.
We are seeking a candidate with Supervisory experience with a background in Civil Construction, Bulk Earthworks or SMP.
What you will be doing;
Contribute to the construction strategy and project execution plan by identifying the optimal sequence of construction for the complete facilities
Be responsible for the development of specific construction deliverables (plans, specifications and procedures) as directed by the construction manager
Coordinate and review EPC/EPCM/Contractor construction activities including schedule, budget, deliverables and safety performance ensuring compliance with owner standards and processes
Provide construction expertise as input to value improvement practices for the development of construction related deliverables, including participation in constructability activities and engineering design reviews
Manage an area or discipline on the construction site on a day to day basis ensuring the construction team performs their role in line with site expectations
Act as a ???point of contact?? between the Implementation Contractor and the existing operating facilities to ensure minimal disruption to both Operations and construction activities
Coordinate execution of construction risk and quality management plans to assure effective management of the project???s construction scope of work
Monitor project/program progress, so that any deviations that may impact the construction activities can be managed and the effects minimised
Collaborate on the process of handover between the functions that interface with the Construction process ??? Engineering, Projects Contracts & Procurement, Commissioning and Operations
Lead, coach and mentor team members to ensure delivery against performance targets
Integrate and apply internal lessons learned and external best practices across the project with identified opportunities for improvements in project management, increased capital efficiency and productivity
What you will need;
A background in Civil Construction, Bulk Earthworks or SMP trades or equivalent
Supervisory experience
Reasonable knowledge of other disciplines would be highly advantageous
The ability to work in a QLD Coal Mine (S11, medical)
QLD Coal Supervisor course (S1, S2, S3)
A high level of written and verbal communication
Proficient user of MS Office software inc. Word, Outlook, Excel
