Contract & Leasing Officer

About the Role:

Responsible for effective compliance processes in the areas of leasing, contracts and procurement functions across the organisation.

Key Requirements:

Leasing and Contracts

  • Effectively manage leases, licenses and agreements through the development and review of policies and procedures.

  • Assist and/or manage negotiations relating to leases, licenses, and contract renewals.

  • Assist in developing a framework relating to the compliance of existing leases, licenses, and agreements.

  • Develop procedures for the maintenance and administrative oversight of the Shire???s contracts.

  • Assist officers with developing, administering, and maintaining contracts and agreements.

  • Liaise with external legal stakeholders on the development of standard contract and lease templates.

  • Develop and review leasing templates and documents.

  • Maintain tender, contract and contract performance registers.

  • Administer Reserves.

  • General Duties

  • Assist with the effective delivery of Governance Services at the Shire of Capel.

  • Assist in the facilitation of procurement processes under the relevant legislation, Shire policy and procedures.

  • Assist with the preparation of relevant Council reports.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Shire policies, procedures, information sheets and processes.

  • Maintain accurate and compliant records.

  • Undertake project work where necessary.

Key Requirements:

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience in leasing or contract roles (or similar) and associated administrative tasks.

  • Demonstrated a high level of written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated a high level of teamwork.

  • Demonstrated a high level of attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of systems.

  • Minimum C class drivers licence.

  • Police clearance.

Desirable

  • Previous experience with Tenderlink or similar tender systems.

  • Previous experience with government procurement

  • Previous experience in a contract administration role.

  • Previous experience in legal administration role.

  • Qualifications in, or working towards, Certificates IV in Procurement and Contracting.

  • Qualifications in, or working towards, Bachelor of Laws.
