Crane Operators Needed for Rio Tinto Western Range Project

  • Earn minimum $46.29 per hour plus penalties

  • Additional $4 per hour site allowance and a $100 PIP per week

  • Fixed-term role with sick leave and annual leave entitlements, offering an immediate start.

Our Client has successfully secured a major construction contract for the Rio Tinto Western Range Project at their Paraburdoo site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. This iron ore project involves both Greenfields and Brownfields scopes, encompassing the construction of a new Run of Mine (ROM) pad, installation of a primary crushing facility, implementation of an overland conveying circuit, and modifications to the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS) and downstream conveying system.

  • Modifications to the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS) and downstream conveying system

  • Expected project completion in 2024

Work Schedule:

  • FIFO 3:1 Roster, 2:1 until the end of shutdown (Feb 2024)

  • FIFO from all Australian Capital Cities

Requirements:

  • Current High Risk Work Licence (C1 Rough Terrain 80T or CO - 81T - 180T or CO Crawler 280T)

  • Drivers Licence

  • Working at Heights

  • OHS White/Blue Card

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the Construction Industry

  • Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card

Responsibilities:

As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Operating the crane for heavy lifting and transport

  • Ensuring all lifts are within load limits and correctly rigged

  • Performing additional tasks during periods when the crane is not in use due to weather, mechanical maintenance/failure, or work scope requirements

  • Maintaining continuous communication with riggers during crane operation
