About the Role
WorkPac are currently looking for an experienced Dewatering Engineer to join our client Rio Tinto for an ongoing opportunity. This role will be FIFO on an 8:6 or 2:1 day shift roster at Marandoo.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead site maintenance optimisation projects and implementing dewatering strategies
Manage the reliability of dewatering site assets (pumps, gensets, headworks)
Assist operational execution teams with resolving equipment breakdowns as required
Communicate with stakeholders to achieve dewatering targets (mine planning, hydrogeology, drill and blast, production)
Provide technical assistance to operational execution and project teams
Plan and implement capital projects for dewatering assets and providing dewatering scheduling to execution teams (Bore moves, pump and generator sizing)
Skills and Experience
You will have relevant tertiary engineering qualifications coupled with demonstrated experience with, and an understanding of site dewatering infrastructure
Problem solving skills and experience in reliability and defect elimination
Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels
An understanding of mine planning and associated planning tools, such as Vulcan and SAP, whilst not essential will be advantageous
A current C class driver's license
