About the Role

WorkPac are currently looking for an experienced Dewatering Engineer to join our client Rio Tinto for an ongoing opportunity. This role will be FIFO on an 8:6 or 2:1 day shift roster at Marandoo.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead site maintenance optimisation projects and implementing dewatering strategies

• Manage the reliability of dewatering site assets (pumps, gensets, headworks)

• Assist operational execution teams with resolving equipment breakdowns as required

• Communicate with stakeholders to achieve dewatering targets (mine planning, hydrogeology, drill and blast, production)

• Provide technical assistance to operational execution and project teams

• Plan and implement capital projects for dewatering assets and providing dewatering scheduling to execution teams (Bore moves, pump and generator sizing)

Skills and Experience

• You will have relevant tertiary engineering qualifications coupled with demonstrated experience with, and an understanding of site dewatering infrastructure

• Problem solving skills and experience in reliability and defect elimination

• Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate across all levels

• An understanding of mine planning and associated planning tools, such as Vulcan and SAP, whilst not essential will be advantageous

• A current C class driver's license
