Electrical Supervisor

About the Role:

WorkPac on behalf of our client are seeking an experienced Electrical Supervisor. You will be working on the Smart Motorways Project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading teams of subcontractors, trades staff apprentices

  • Managing project deliverables and timelines in accordance with budgets

  • Drive optimal resource allocation against project specific construction requirements

  • Safety Champion - ensure teams and personnel have a sound working knowledge of relevant SWMS Ensure any incidents/accidents and near misses are reported in writing within 24 hours

  • Reporting directly to the Construction Superintendent

  • You direct reports will include Electrical tradespersons, subcontractors, apprentices.

  • Monitoring and ensuring Occupational Health & Safety obligations are strictly adhered to with respect to the operations and construction of projects.

  • Developing client relationships, managing client expectations, and ensuring construction activities are aligned with customer requirements.

  • Guiding, overseeing and monitoring progress against time, cost, and quality requirements of projects

  • Maintaining regular liaison and communication with the Project/URD/Overhead/Traffic Signals Manager to ensure coordination of construction activities and handling of plant and equipment together with special projects are being undertaken in an efficient and economical manner. Regular communication is to be maintained regarding the financial management of the project.

  • Monitoring construction risks; developing and implementing actions to mitigate risks and manage issues including rectification and other works that pertain to time, cost, and quality.

  • In consultation with the Managing Director ensure all optimal resource allocation and utilisation is achieved against the objectives of specific construction project requirements and commitment to fostering the development of its staff.

  • Regularly review practices relating to projects to ensure maximum cost, quality, and safety benefits are achieved

  • Ensure all subordinate personnel have a sound working knowledge of relevant SWMS for tasks to which they are assigned.

  • Undertake impartial performance reviews of subordinate staff.

  • Ensure the maintenance and security of all plant and equipment assigned to the Supervisors team.

  • Ensure any incidents/accidents and near misses are reported in writing within 24 hours.Adhoc weekend where required

  • Driver's license

Key Requirements:

Demonstrated knowledge of civil construction and associated electrical contracting works in a supervisory capacity. Demonstrated ability to read and understand engineering & construction drawings. Possession of a general site safety induction card. Sound oral, written communication & numeracy skills. Sound computer literacy skills. Ability to oversee, manage and work effectively in a team environment without supervision. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines & work under pressure. A willingness and physical capability of assisting and directing on site works. An understanding of and experience in applying workplace health & safety practices in the workplace. Ability to work flexible hours to meet the requirements of the position. Excellent customer.
