Position: Field Officer
Location: Karratha, WA
Salary: $38 per hour (Flat Rate)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Job Description:

As a Field Officer, your primary responsibility will be conducting essential field activities in biosecurity and natural disaster emergencies. These activities may include surveillance, destruction, disposal, decontamination, vaccination, and vector control. In smaller incidents, you may be assigned more than one of these activities, depending on the size and complexity of the incident.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete tasks safely, including maintaining appropriate records and taking photos when necessary.

• Communicate information on task progress, resource status, significant changes, emerging risks, near misses, or injuries.

• Ensure all animals receive the required veterinary treatment.

• Maintain biosecurity and animal welfare.

Position Criteria:

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both in a team and independently.

• Experience in operating in accordance with organizational WHS (Work Health and Safety) systems.

• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively convey information and advice.

• Ability to understand and comply with instructions, procedures, and workplace systems.

Required Documentation:

• National Police Clearance (valid within the last 6 months)

• Certified proof of working rights within Australia

• Drivers Licence
