What You Will Be Doing

An ongoing position exists for an experienced Heavy Duty Fitter/Locomotive Maintainer at Rio Tinto's 7 Mile Rail Facility. In this role, you will be required to;

• Perform fitting and mechanical maintenance tasks, from overhauls and major engine servicing, bogie overhauls and fitment, to minor level servicing and provisioning.

• Perform emergency repairs to locomotives.

• Replaces locomotive and diesel engine components including but not limited to wheels or trucks, traction motors, springs, couplers, draft gear assembly, gear cases, cylinder heads, air compressors, and turbo chargers

• Perform daily service of locomotive units: fuels, waters, lubrication and oils.

Requirements

• 3+ years recent Fitter experience in an Iron Ore Fixed or Mobile Plant

• Trade Certificate- Diesel Mechanic

• Manual C Class Australian issued Drivers Licence (minimum)

• CAT 1 Rail Medical

• Large diesel engine and electric traction system experience
