About The Role

WorkPac are seeking a Heritage Liaison Officer to join Rio Tinto in the Pilbara to assist with community relations and heritage requirements. The role will require some remote travel for up to 12 days at a time, up to 90 nights per year. This is open to applicants based in the coastal Pilbara region.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work closely with local community and key stakeholders to ensure needs are being considered.

• Promote a community focused culture within the team and in the field.

• Coordinate heritage engagement activities and communications.

• Act as a point of contact for community members and stakeholder enquiries.

• Liaise directly with local residents, businesses and stakeholders to identify community concerns.

Skills & Experience

• 4WD experience in remote, off-road environments.

• Able to work well under pressure with a practical and mature approach to problem solving.

• Physically fit and able to change tires and lift equipment in and out of vehicles.

• Strong safety culture, with high regard for community health and safety.

• Willing to drive long distances and manage fatigue as needed.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Good working knowledge of MS Office, map reading and GPS devices.

• Remote mine site experience will be advantageous.
