About the Role:
WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a 6-month contract. This role will work a 5/2 roster and will be based in Perth with Adhoc site travel to Parker Point Dampier and will be responsible for providing specialist Engineering /Operational Readiness advice, engineering and support to the PPt Reclaimer Replacement and PPt Fines De-bottlenecking Projects
Duties and Responsibilities:
Engage with the Project team and provide site Operational, Maintenance and Engineering viewpoints and requirements.
Establish and maintain relationships with Site Operation, Maintenance, Engineering, IS&T, Utilities and other relevant stakeholders.
Conduct workshops, interviews and walk throughs with stakeholders to understand the requirements of the user.
Development of scoping, Operating Philosophy and other technical documentation outlining Ops Readiness and Site project requirements
Conduct design, scope and risk assessment reviews to identify and mitigate potential constraints, risks and/or opportunities that may prevent / improve the project ramp-up???s, transition into steady state operations and achievement of the Projects??? business cases.
Engage weekly with Operations and Maintenance team members to ensure they understand how the Projects are tracking.
Proactively ensure the design of assets meet RTIO safety expectations and requirements.
Demonstrating excellence in teamwork, partnership, communication and stakeholder management.
Providing guidance and support for leaders to understand, manage, prioritise and achieve mutual agreement on Project decisions.
About You:
Bachelor degree in the field of engineering (Mechanical, Process, Chemical)
Strong technical report writing ability
Knowledge of project management (scoping, planning, scheduling, resource planning, and cost estimation) and project site activities.
Member of a small to medium-sized project???s management team
Knowledge of iron ore port operations.
Knowledge of conveyor, chute, and pulley design, modelling, maintenance and operation.
Knowledge of reclaimers mechanical design, operational and maintenance.
Understanding of organisational change management
Exposure to risk management and business improvement methodologies.
Well-developed people influencing, engagement and communication skills.
Mature approach to issues and strong decision-making skills.
Proven ability in safety leadership in the mining industry.
Current ???C?? class drivers??? licence
