About the Client
McArthur River Mine is located on one of the world's largest deposits of zinc and lead, about 970km south-east of Darwin in Australia's Northern Territory. Zinc and lead is mined and processed at McArthur River Mine and trucked to Bing Bong Loading Facility of the Gulf of Carpentaria, where it is then shipped around the world. McArthur River Mine which is run by Glencore includes an open cut mine and processing facilities.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and experienced Light Vehicle Mechanic at McArthur River Mine.
In this role, you will be required to repair and conduct preventative maintenance, fault diagnostics and breakdown repairs on mobile fleet out in the field and the workshop. You will also inspect and determine equipment condition and assess it's sustainability to return to service. Some of the fleet of heavy mobile equipment of which you will need to have experience on includes; ancillary equipment, cranes, forklifts, lightning towers, generators and light vehicles.
You must have an absolute commitment to working safely, complying with all site safety standards and ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace is essential. It is imperative that you possess the ability and aptitude to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability, housekeeping and compliance with mine working procedures.
Skills and Requirements
Mechanical Trade Certificate / Light Vehicle Trade Certification
Manual C Class Drivers Licence
2 + years post trade experience in a similar role
