WorkPac has opportunities for experienced Mechanical Fitter's working for our high profile client who is involved in the defence industry.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Mechanical Fitter with WorkPac, working for our esteemed client involved in the defence industry, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, and maintenance of various mechanical components and systems. This role is pivotal in ensuring the operational integrity and reliability of equipment. Your day to day duties will include:

Read and understand engineering drawings and schematics to accurately assemble and install mechanical systems such as Bilge, pumps, and other mechanical equipment.

Conduct Flange Pipe installations according to specifications and standards.

Perform precision fitting and assembly operations to construct, maintain, and repair mechanical systems and components.

Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical components with other systems.

Adhere to all safety guidelines and practices, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.

Participate in routine maintenance and troubleshooting activities, applying problem-solving skills to ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance.

Ensure quality control measures are strictly followed, maintaining the high standards required in the defence industry.

Complete all work in compliance with national regulations and company policies.

What You Will Need

  • Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification

  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting, with specific experience in reading/understanding drawings, installing Bilge, pumps, and mechanical equipment, and Flange Pipe installations.

  • A strong commitment to safety and a thorough understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and medical examination.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to solve problems efficiently.
