WorkPac Health and Social Care are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to take on a challenging role within the largest correctional Centre in Australia. This state-of-the-art facility located in coastal NSW and is driving distance to Brisbane & Sydney.
Job role
The 1,700-bed state-of-the art facility housing both male and female prisoners will be the largest correctional centre in Australia. Promoting the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates & ensuring the safety and security of inmates and the community, Providing a decent and respectful environment to staff, inmates and visitors. You will be required to Provide leadership and advice to the nursing team.
You will be required to Monitor internal and external environment and influences to ensure health services are able to meet the changing needs of patient health care through strategic planning. Use advance problem-solving strategies that influence, manage and coordinate patient care. Write prescriptions for patients for medications including the frequency and dosage where clinically relevant. Diagnose and treat acute infections, injuries and illnesses where appropriate. Conduct and order diagnostic tests where clinically appropriate.
Talk to patients about effectively managing their health, as well as assist in designing appropriate treatment plans and recommending further care, Create patient care plans in collaboration with various stakeholders.Â
Experience and Requirements
ALL applicant experience levels will be considered - Needs to be able to work independently
Clinical assessment, care planning, review and discharge planning of individual patients including ongoing regular reviews
Unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Master of Nursing Practice- Endorsement by the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia (NMBA) to provide patient care in an advanced and extended clinical role
Advanced Life Support
National Criminal History Check
