Payroll Coordinator

About the Role:

WorkPac are seeking an experienced Payroll specialist for our local government client, based in Port Hedland direct with our Council client on a Full Time Permanent basis. This position offers a Monday to Friday roster, offering 38 hours a week. A competitive salary package with relocation and rental assistance is also available, along with many additional benefits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage end to end payroll functions to ensure a timely and accurate payment of payroll, superannuation, taxes and deductions in accordance with the payroll work Calendar

  • Undertake regular audit checks to ensure the payroll function is compliant with policies

  • Develop and document robust payroll processes

  • Develop and maintain systems, policies and procedures, monitor workflows and conduct evaluations to ensure continuous improvement of business management systems

  • Provide excellent customer service, acknowledging queries and resolving issues within agreed timeframes

  • Ensure all corporate documentation is captured into the record keeping system

  • Lead, coach and mentor the Finance and Payroll Officer

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrated work experience running a payroll for 250 plus employees

  • Certified Payroll Specialist qualification (or working towards) or business degree or equivalent

  • At least 5 years experience in a similar role

  • National Police Clearance

  • Current C class drivers license

  • Rights to work in Australia
