About the Role:
WorkPac are seeking an experienced Payroll specialist for our local government client, based in Port Hedland direct with our Council client on a Full Time Permanent basis. This position offers a Monday to Friday roster, offering 38 hours a week. A competitive salary package with relocation and rental assistance is also available, along with many additional benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage end to end payroll functions to ensure a timely and accurate payment of payroll, superannuation, taxes and deductions in accordance with the payroll work Calendar
Undertake regular audit checks to ensure the payroll function is compliant with policies
Develop and document robust payroll processes
Develop and maintain systems, policies and procedures, monitor workflows and conduct evaluations to ensure continuous improvement of business management systems
Provide excellent customer service, acknowledging queries and resolving issues within agreed timeframes
Ensure all corporate documentation is captured into the record keeping system
Lead, coach and mentor the Finance and Payroll Officer
Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated work experience running a payroll for 250 plus employees
Certified Payroll Specialist qualification (or working towards) or business degree or equivalent
At least 5 years experience in a similar role
National Police Clearance
Current C class drivers license
